A downloadable tool

This script is based on the original jukebox.py script by Matthew R. Demicco (RetroBitsTV).

However, I wanted a graphical interface that offered a few additional features, so I used AI to enhance the original script.

You can now download the result here.

The new features and improvements are as follows:

  • GUI
  • browse and select SID files
  • view SID metadata (title, author)
  • automatic song length detection (using songlengths.md5 from HVSC)
  • synchronized playback across multiple devices
  • shuffle and sequential playback modes
  • network device scanning
  • spectrum analyzer (requires Python’s Numpy to be installed)

Install instructions

This is a Python script—Python must be installed on your computer for it to work.

To use the spectrum analyzer, you must install NumPy for Python.

The Spectrum Analyzer uses the audio stream from the Ultimate device. This means that to use the Spectrum Analyzer, the audio stream must be enabled on the Ultimate device.
